Greetings, February has been an exciting month for CSAmerica. We held our first national event, established a new student governing board, and have an ever-growing group of motivated student leaders from colleges coast to coast becoming involved with CSAmerica on their campuses and nationally.
On February 9, students from twenty colleges and universities from New Jersey to California traveled to Washington, D.C. for the inaugural CSAmerica National Convention. The three day event featured keynote speaker David Mark. Mr. Mark is a Senior Editor of the new Washington, D.C. newspaper The Politico and the author of Going Dirty: The Art of Negative Campaigning, which is due out in paperback next month. Convention delegates debated and discussed issues ranging from Iraq to Darfur and immigration to affirmative action. The convention docket results are available online at http://events.csamerica.org/docket.htm.

The Collegiate Society announced the establishment of the CSAmerica Council, a new student-run governing board that will lead the CSAmerica program, at the National Convention in Washington, D.C. earlier this month. The Council members are Emmanuel Caudillo of the George Washington University, Edith Hannigan of Rutgers University, and Courtney Lenz of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Council will take the lead in planning, executing, and expanding the CSAmerica program and events.
SAVE THE DATE! November 2-4, 2007 This fall, CSAmerica will hold its Fall Summit, a three day national conference focusing on debate, discussion, leadership development, and more. Each year, CSAmerica plans to move the fall summit to a new host city. The host city for the inaugural Fall Summit will be announced soon. Mark the dates in your calendar now and keep a lookout for more information in the coming months.
