Greetings,
School is back in session across the nation, and
CSAmerica is taking root! We have been experiencing
growth in each of our four regions, but we still
need your help to get CSAmerica going at even more
schools.
Make it your goal to have a CSAmerica chapter going
at your school before midterms! We have an exciting
inaugural year ahead and we want you and your
college or university to be a part of it!

Making It Happen |
 |
By Edith Hannigan, Rutgers University
What
will CSAmerica bring to college campuses? What
will CSAmerica bring to your college campus? College
can be overwhelming, with anywhere from 2,000 to
40,000 students roaming its grassy knolls. How will
CSAmerica affect those students?
At Rutgers,
CSAmerica will be an organization in which students
can voice their opinions, whether they attend every
meeting or just a few on topics they are passionate
about. With such a diverse student body, it can be
hard to find a niche at Rutgers where everyone feels
welcome and appreciated, but my plan is to establish
CSAmerica as that haven. To accomplish this, I have
mostly been doing one thing: e-mailing. I have
bombarded the Student Advisory Board, its directors,
the Office of Student Leadership, professors, and my
peer executive board members with emails, requesting
help and ideas.
Because registering student organizations is usually
completed online, it might intimidating to call
someone if they do not respond to your emails. Do
not be afraid to call your Office of Student
Leadership (or any helpful resource) for more
clarification or to avoid any bureaucratic red tape.
Continue e-mailing or calling and approaching other
people to be the advisor or on the executive board.
Although the first professors or students you ask to
help create your chapter of CSAmerica may not be
able to help, keep clicking that Send button, and
your persistence will reward you with a successful
CSAmerica chapter.

CSAmerica Comes Alive |
 |
Already this fall, student leaders at more than a
dozen colleges and universities have brought
CSAmerica to life on their campuses. Chapters are
active at Rutgers, the University of Cincinnati,
Emory, Wisconsin-Madison, and many more!
CSAmerica is the political club for everyone, and
college students are taking note. Be a part of the
beginning and help shape the future. Take the time
to start a chapter so that your school can enjoy the
CSAmerica experience. Being CSAmerica debates,
educated discussions, and civic participation drives
to your campus.
Check out the CSAmerica toolkit
for resources to help you get organized and to help
your chapter succeed.
